This month we kick off a new blog series for STU Beauty. It will feature the top 10 favorites of known beauty aficionados and personalities - who are actual seekers themselves.
We are proud to launch with acclaimed Beauty Guru, Agoo Bengzon. Agoo & I have known each other for years. She says: "STU Beauty Purveyor, Vanessa and I go way back. We would often meet for Luxasia's launches, and I remember always getting giddy because Vanessa handled some of the best beauty brands—Guerlain, Decléor and the like. Four children later (two for her, and two for me), and many years of marital bliss after, we're both still pursuing our most loved passion: beauty."
Road testing all sorts of beauty products and finishing up beauty articles never felt burdensome for Agoo. "All the years I've invested in beauty (I was the Beauty Editor then eventually Beauty Director of Preview magazine from 2000 to June of this year) are now helping me give back. Friends and followers on social media have used my accounts as a beauty hotline, and I'm always happy to help out."
This is definitely something I can relate to. Here are Agoo's TOP 10 Beauty Picks and why she loves them in her own words:
I discovered this in my son’s bathroom—it’s great for taming frizzy hair, keeping stray brow hairs in place, and hiding unsightly baby bangs.
It takes a super sharp pair of tweezers to get the tiniest of hairs, and these stay sharp for a long time even after using it daily for months.
That time-of-the-month is notorious for bringing forth all sorts of skin problems but I’ve managed to keep blackheads, whiteheads and pimples from emerging by using this once a week.
If you don’t have the time to do your entire face, opt for a deep red hue against immaculate skin. That look will always be a DO!
If your hair’s on the damaged side, you might want to cut back on the curl ironing sessions, and use this instead. Simply spray this onto damp locks, scrunch your hair in sections with your fingers, and you’ve got yourself a sexy tousled mane.
Strobing or calculated dewiness to mimic a healthy, youthful glow for the face is all the rage now. This helps me get the look in a jiffy.
Fact: A tiny bit of smudged black eyeliner on your upper lash line will give eyes a sexy, smoldering look. I love this because it stays on forever!
I’m not a huge fan of heavy florals—I prefer light and simple scents like this one. I steal this from my younger son all the time.
This comes in handy when you don’t have time to step out for a pro facial. I love the tingling feeling and grapefruit scent it leaves on my skin.
10. Ciaté Nail Polish – Dangerous Affair
The easiest way to dress up your tips and toes is to swipe on a lovely burgundy hue.
Watch our for our next Beauty personality next month. HINT: She is one of the top makeup artists in the Philippines. Can you guess who?
Cheers,
