4 Ways to Celebrate Mom (From Home) on Mother's Day

This year's mother's day will look a little different as there will be no bustling restaurants filled with families and flowers. In the same breath, we believe mother's day can be a lot more exciting and intimate when done from home. All you need is a little creativity, and a whole lot of tuning in to the little things that would make your mom happy.

Here are four of our picks:

1. Start her day off with a breakfast spread fit for a queen.

Remember all those times mom woke up at 5 AM (or earlier!) just to make sure you had a decent breakfast and lunchbox? Why not return the favor by surprising her with a breakfast spread that's fit for a queen.

If cooking has never been your forte, no worries - you can opt for easy-to-prepare breakfast foods like sausages and bread. Peel and cut some pretty fruits, while you're at it. If your mom likes her breakfast a little elaborate, you can also have certain delicacies delivered to your doorstep (and you get to support local businesses in the process, too).

Remember to make the spread pretty! Tablescapes are an art in itself.

2. Surprise her with a little cocktail magic.

Here's a great way to get your message to mom across: give her a happy hour. For an easy and delicious cocktail, we recommend putting together a quick Cointreau Rose Fizz.

Pour together 30 ml of Cointreau, a teaspoon of rose tonic, and a shot of gin and you're good to go. Adjust according to taste. Add a garnish for a personal touch.

3. Give her a (literal) Netflix-and-chill pass.

Let mom enjoy a late night in by picking out a Netflix film and serving her snackies in bed. Do it like the 90's movies with a gorgeous silver serving platter and an array of snacks she loves. Plant or flower optional.

4. Set up a romantic candlelit backyard dinner to show how much you appreciate her.

You can connive with dad in this one. Help him plan out a romantic backyard dinner by setting up a beautiful table and coming up with a scrumptious meal for two. If dad is generous, he'll let the kids join the table.

Happy mother's day to all the amazing mothers out there! We appreciate you.
